Dr Jill Drake

Jill qualified as a veterinarian in 1990.

She worked in private practice from 1990 to 2011, the last 14 years of which were in her own practice.
In April 2012 she joined the Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic on a part-time basis.

Jill has a special interest in cats, as well as wildlife, in particular, hedgehogs and has been rescuing, treating and rehabilitating hedgehogs since 1992.  She is an excellent teacher and has a wonderful rapport with clients and students alike.

In 2014 Jill did a short study on the dental and oral disease in the hedgehog species found in South Africa as well as those in the Middle East.

In 2017 Jill’s husband Uwe started a company in Mauritius and she relocated there in 2018.  Currently she offers veterinary dentistry at various practices on the island.  On visiting friends and family in SA, Jill does pop-into the clinic and if you are lucky you may see her here, still part of the team.
